On 21 September 2026 Access Bank Plc repaid in full its US$500 million senior unsecured Eurobond at maturity. The bank said the repayment was funded entirely from its foreign-currency liquidity, discharging the five-year instrument issued on 21 September 2021 and removing the obligation from its external debt stock.

The on‑time repayment reduces near‑term external rollover risk for Access Bank and may modestly ease refinancing premia for comparable Nigerian dollar issuers by removing a large scheduled maturity from the market. Any broader spread relief depends on investors’ views of other Nigerian banks’ foreign‑currency liquidity and upcoming external maturities, not on this single redemption alone.

Monitor Access Bank’s next external funding needs and its published liquidity maturities schedule.
