On May 28, 2026 Angola announced it accepted $749,999,533 of tenders (about $750m) for portions of its 2028 and 2029 eurobonds and settled the purchases on May 29, 2026, financing the operation with $1.5bn of new notes consolidated into its 2031 and 2037 series.

By reducing outstanding stock in the 2028/2029 maturities and issuing longer-dated 2031/2037 bonds, Angola shifts repayment concentration further out the curve. That should lower near-term rollover risk and tighten short-to-intermediate sovereign spreads, while shrinking liquidity in the front-end of the Angolan dollar curve and increasing relative supply and duration in the new long tranches.
