CBK reopens KSh100bn of long-dated Treasury bonds (FXD3/2019/015 & FXD1/2019/020)

On 24 September 2026 the Central Bank of Kenya opened a KSh100 billion offer (KSh50bn each) reopening two fixed-rate bonds, FXD3/2019/015 (maturing 10 Jul 2034, coupon 12.34%) and FXD1/2019/020 (maturing 21 Mar 2039, coupon 12.873%), for bids through 30 Sep 2026.

On 24 September 2026 the Central Bank of Kenya opened a KSh100 billion offer (KSh50bn each) reopening two fixed-rate bonds, FXD3/2019/015 (maturing 10 Jul 2034, coupon 12.34%) and FXD1/2019/020 (maturing 21 Mar 2039, coupon 12.873%), for bids through 30 Sep 2026.

Reopening long-dated, high-coupon domestic bonds increases near-term long-end supply and absorbs local liquidity, which can put upward pressure on long-duration domestic yields and influence Kenya’s sovereign funding mix versus externally funded peers. Banks and pension funds eligible to meet statutory liquidity requirements may be primary buyers; secondary-market turnover will follow settlement on 5 October 2026.

Auction and bid deadline on 30 September 2026; settlement expected 5 October 2026.
