A higher US policy rate and firmer dollar raise global discount rates and reduce dollar liquidity for EM borrowers. That increases rollover and funding costs for FX-dependent African issuers and lifts required yields on long-dated USD Eurobonds. The impact is conditional on reserve buffers, commodity-export receipts and local central-bank rate differentials; exporters with FX revenues will be less exposed than importers.
