If the EU secures a voluntary cap or imposes tariffs on Chinese hybrids, European demand could be redirected toward locally built models or alternative suppliers, altering import flows and input-demand for commodities (metals, plastics) used in autos. African exporters that supply raw materials or vehicle components to China or Europe may see volumes and prices adjust depending on the scale and duration of any restrictions and resulting investment in local EU production.
