Higher US policy rates and the Fed's signal of another hike raise US Treasury yields and the dollar, which tightens global financial conditions. For African issuers, that can compress carry on USD funding, increase debt-service burdens on long-dated dollar eurobonds, and raise importers' FX costs. The extent of spread widening will depend on reserve buffers, commodity revenues and IMF or official-sector support.
