The desk brief
On 1 September 2026 Ghana’s Ministry of Finance opened a price-guidance and bookbuild for a new 4-year domestic Treasury bond, with the bookbuild running 1–3 September and settlement scheduled for 7 September 2026. The sale is intended to raise domestic funding ahead of future external debt maturities.
If the bookbuild attracts strong domestic demand, it can ease external rollover pressure by substituting local funding for upcoming external obligations and flattening pressure in the belly of the domestic curve. Weak demand would preserve reliance on external financing and sustain conditional FX/reserve risks. The outcome depends on allocation, yield levels and take-up by domestic investors.
Bookbuild closes 3 September 2026; official allocation and yield guidance expected shortly after.
