If sustained, higher Brent crude raises Kenya’s import bill and domestic pump prices, pushing headline inflation up and widening fiscal deficits via larger fuel subsidies or lower revenue realisation. That combination tends to put upward pressure on Kenya’s eurobond spreads and the middle of the local yield curve through higher borrowing needs and tighter domestic liquidity conditions.
