Index inclusion mechanically creates passive demand from funds tracking the GBI‑EM Edge. That demand is most likely to target onshore liquid benchmarks and long‑dated maturities, which could exert downward pressure on onshore yields, deepen local secondary liquidity, and feed through to reduced foreign‑currency refinancing premia for Nigeria. The effect on FGN Eurobonds is indirect and concentrated at the long end.
