Kenya switch auction 150.55% subscribed; KSh22.51bn accepted into Nov‑2029 FXD4/2019/010

On August 26, 2026, Kenya’s Central Bank completed a KSh15 billion switch in which CBK received KSh22.58 billion of bids (150.55% subscription) and accepted about KSh22.51 billion, directing holdings into FXD4/2019/010 (12.28% coupon, maturity 12 Nov 2029).

The completed switch pushes near‑term domestic redemptions into a medium‑duration November‑2029 benchmark, concentrating liquidity and investor holdings around the three‑to‑four year section of the Kenyan curve. If secondary‑market trading and future similar switches show continued participation, the November‑2029 line could become a deeper belly benchmark; absent that, the result chiefly provides liability‑management relief.
