Nigeria DMO opens October 2026 FGN Savings Bond; two- and three-year coupons set

On October 5, 2026 Nigeria’s Debt Management Office opened subscription for October 2026 FGN Savings Bonds, pricing the two-year at 13.071% and the three-year at 14.071%, with the offer open to retail and institutional investors through October 9 and settlement on October 14, 2026.

The retail savings bond offer will absorb naira liquidity mid-October as subscriptions close Oct. 9 and settlement occurs Oct. 14. That cash absorption can lift short-term domestic yields and tighten bank liquidity, which may, all else equal, reduce immediate domestic demand for external sovereign and corporate issuance in naira-sensitive portfolios. The magnitude depends on take-up and banks’ funding buffers.

Subscription window closes Oct. 9, 2026; settlement and coupon payment schedule on Oct. 14, 2026.
