Higher pump prices raise consumer inflation and logistics costs via transport pass-through, directly increasing short-term CPI and operating costs for freight-dependent firms. This pressure can widen domestic short- and medium-term government funding needs if elevated fuel-driven inflation forces tighter policy or reduces fiscal space; corporate margins in logistics-heavy sectors are likely to compress first.

Monitor November fuel-price review (monthly) driven by Brent and rand moves during October.
