World Bank prices USD 1.5bn 7-year SOFR-linked Sustainable Development Bond

On July 16, 2026 the World Bank priced a USD 1.5 billion 7-year Sustainable Development Bond linked to the SOFR Index (maturing July 27, 2033) at coupon Compounded SOFR +38bps. The deal attracted 70 orders with an order book over USD 3.5 billion and will settle July 27, 2026.

On July 16, 2026 the World Bank priced a USD 1.5 billion 7-year Sustainable Development Bond linked to the SOFR Index (maturing July 27, 2033) at coupon Compounded SOFR +38bps. The deal attracted 70 orders with an order book over USD 3.5 billion and will settle July 27, 2026.

A successful World Bank USD SOFR benchmark issuance increases supply of high-grade floating-rate USD paper and can provide a liquid reference for global SSA issuance. Heavy EMEA (40%) allocation, including African investors, suggests regional demand for USD floating-rate assets; however, this does not by itself imply sovereign spread moves or direct repricing of specific African sovereign curves.

Settlement and delivery of the bond on July 27, 2026 and listing on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
