Angola production stagnates vs 2026 budget; LNG and Sanha outages extend to Aug 9, 2026

On July 30, 2026 sources report Angola produced 186.9 million barrels in Jan–Jun 2026 (1.032 mbpd), 17,500 bpd below the 2026 State Budget projection; a coordinated maintenance shutdown of Angola LNG and Chevron’s Sanha complex is also scheduled to keep operations offline until August 9, 2026, reducing near-term export capacity.

Lower-than-budgeted oil output and a coordinated outage at ALNG and the Sanha Complex reduce expected hydrocarbon export volumes and fiscal receipts, increasing near-term sovereign refinancing pressure. Conditionally, if production and LNG cargo losses persist through H2, Angola’s Eurobond spreads could face widening, especially on longer-dated tranches that price sovereign funding risk over multiple years.
