Ghana announces September 2026 four-year cedi Treasury bond (matures 2030)

On 1 September 2026 the Republic of Ghana announced a book-built auction for a new four-year Ghana cedi-denominated Treasury bond maturing in 2030, with initial pricing guidance released that day and settlement/issue scheduled for 7 September 2026. The final size will be set through the book-build.

The planned four-year issuance increases supply in the short-to-medium segment of Ghana's local-currency sovereign curve, likely drawing domestic liquidity into medium-term paper and altering the timing of funding needs. If domestic demand underwhelms at the book-build, Ghana may need to lean more on foreign-currency financing or adjust its calendar of domestic issues for 2027–28 maturities tied to the DDEP.

Initial pricing guidance and book-build opens on 1 September 2026; books expected to close 3 September and settlement on 7 September 2026.
