On September 1, 2026 Ghana opened a book-build for a new four-year cedi-denominated Treasury bond that matures in 2030. The Bank of Ghana announced the issuance (Notice BG/FMD/2026/43) and set September 7, 2026 as the final pricing, allocation and settlement date.

A successful book-build would extend Ghana’s domestic debt maturity profile beyond short-dated Treasury bills and test appetite for duration after the domestic restructuring. If demand is strong and the clearing yield is close to shorter-term rates, the government can lower rollover risk; weak demand or a large yield premium would keep refinancing pressure concentrated on the short end and raise borrowing costs for longer tenors.

Final pricing, allocation and settlement scheduled for September 7, 2026.
